The Management Council
What is the The Management Council?
The Management Council coordinates and supports the collaborative efforts of the sixteen ITC members of the OECN. The Management Council and its various technical and educational divisions continue to ensure that students have appropriate connectivity, support, software, and digital resources to succeed today and into the future.
The Management Council oversees and supports five internal divisions, which form the backbone of the organization. These divisions are:

- Data Center / Network
- INFOhio
- Stakeholder Engagement
- State Software Development

Difference Maker Award
The Management Council Difference Maker Award is the organization’s highest and only annual honor recognizing individuals who have made a lasting impact on education in Ohio. Established in 2019, the award celebrates those who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, vision, and commitment to supporting Ohio’s students, educators, and schools through innovation, collaboration, and service.
Presented annually, the Difference Maker Award recognizes individuals both inside and outside of the Ohio Education Computer Network (OECN) who have championed the important role of technology in advancing teaching, learning, and educational leadership. Recipients are honored for their foresight, dedication, and meaningful contributions that have strengthened Ohio’s educational community and helped improve outcomes for students across the state.
The Management Council’s mission is to Connect ITCs and schools, Secure Data, and Optimize Technology in ways that Empower Learners, Teachers, and Leaders to make a difference in Ohio. The Difference Maker Award honors those whose work embodies that mission and whose influence continues to shape the future of education in Ohio.
