Jimmy Battrell serves as CEO of the Management Council, where he leads statewide collaboration among Ohio’s Information Technology Centers to provide secure, reliable, and cost-effective technology services that support K–12 education.
With more than twenty-seven years of experience in public-sector technology leadership, Jimmy is known for his steady, collaborative approach and his focus on practical solutions that support schools. His work has consistently centered on strengthening shared services, improving cybersecurity, and helping organizations operate more effectively at scale.
Before joining the Management Council, Jimmy served as Chief Information Officer at META Solutions, where he oversaw enterprise technology strategy, cybersecurity operations, and data systems for one of Ohio’s largest Information Technology Centers, supporting more than 300 school districts. Earlier, as CEO of the Southeastern Ohio Voluntary Education Cooperative (SEOVEC), he guided the organization through a period of growth, expanding services while strengthening its financial position and long-term sustainability.
Jimmy has long been active in Ohio’s education technology community, including service on the Management Council’s Board of Directors and as Board President. His experience working alongside school and state leaders continues to shape his commitment to collaboration and responsive service.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Management from Ohio University and an Associate of Applied Science in Computer Science from Hocking College.
As CEO of the Management Council, Jimmy focuses on strengthening collaboration across the Ohio Education Computer Network. His work centers on advancing cybersecurity and shared services, while ensuring schools across the state have reliable technology infrastructure to support Ohio’s learners, teachers, and leaders.
